This is the story from my POV:
I had been single for 9 years and had basically given up on finding love. I was working at a job that was ruining my mental health and living in a place where I felt very trapped. On New Year’s Eve 2022, I binge watched the HBO show “The White Lotus” season two, for the second time. The entire 7 episode season is filmed in Sicily. I was COMPLETELY mesmerized with Sicily. In a trance. Also a little tipsy from some New Year’s Eve Prosecco, not gonna lie, I got this wild idea to give Tinder ONE LAST TRY. I was going to also make it IMPOSSIBLE to be successful… or so I thought. I set up my tinder profile and paid $9.99 for Tinder plus. Setting my location of choice to Palermo, my second match was Vincenzo. The right swipe happened for me, LITERALLY, at the stroke of midnight, seemingly breaking a spell or maybe granting a wish, because from that moment on, I have only known love. While I did have a handful of matches, Vincenzo was the only person willing to communicate with me knowing I was:
A.) using a translator app
and
B.) 6400 miles away.

From the moment we matched, we never stopped “talking”. Within 36 hours of matching Vincenzo, I booked a trip to Sicily. The trip was of course also to meet Vincenzo, but I had resolved that no matter what happened between Vincenzo and I, I was going to Sicily. From January to Mid March, Vin and I communicated over text, sharing picture and videos and every tiny detail of our days. We counted down the days and sometimes the hours. The anticipation of the trip and the mystery of what was unfolding was exciting and turned my life around. Life began to feel light and enjoyable again. March finally arrived, I just knew this trip was going to set the stage for a significant new chapter in both of our lives. While on this “tour”, Vincenzo provided me an unparalleled experience taking me to locations such as Cefalù, Taormina, Syracuse, Marzamemi. Agrigento with its ancient temples, and the spellbinding mosaics of Monreale…

Throughout the journey, he indulged me in Sicily’s culinary delights, from savory street food to the vibrant markets steeped in history, hidden restaurants and busy cafes, each bite and encounter a delight to the senses.

Thanks to the scenic vistas, rich culture, authentic cuisine, and blossoming love: our shared vision culminated, and so happened the creation of Top Tour Sicily. I moved to Palermo June 2023 on a student visa studying at an Italian school. In November 2023, we were married in Las Vegas, amongst our children and family and friends who attended in person and virtually. While our love has grown, so has our aspiration to offer a service that enables tourists to immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of Sicily, the world’s most enchanting island with the guidance of a lifelong local and his English-speaking (now) wife!
